THE 87th ANNUAL ACADEMY AWARDS WINNERS LIST


Malam puncak dari penghargaan film terbesar dunia, Academy Awards, telah usai digelar untuk ke-87 kalinya pada 22 Februari (menurut waktu Indonesia, 23 Februari pagi) di Dolby Theater, Los Angeles, Amerika Serikat, dengan Neil Patrick Harris bertindak sebagai host. Tidak bisa dipungkiri, tradisi perayaan terhadap industri sinema dunia ini tak saja membawa serta sorak-sorak penuh kegembiraan maupun tangis haru melainkan juga meninggalkan luka bercita rasa pahit bagi sejumlah pihak. Boyhood – dengan proses pembuatan selama 12 tahun – yang semula diprediksi akan memborong banyak piala harus puas bersama hanya satu kategori lewat Best Supporting Actress untuk Patricia Arquette dan harus mengakui kedigdayaan Birdman yang menjadi pemenang besar Oscars tahun ini berkat 4 piala di kategori bergengsi semacam Best Picture, Best Directing, Best Original Screenplay, dan Best Cinematography. 

Berada di posisi yang sama bersama Birdman adalah The Grand Budapest Hotel. Keduanya menjadi peraih nomine tertinggi (9 kategori) sekaligus pemenang terbanyak (4 piala) dengan film arahan Wes Anderson tersebut memboyong pulang sederet kategori teknis semacam tata rias wajah dan rambut, kostum, desain produksi, serta skoring musik. Mengincar di belakang Birdman dan The Grand Budapest Hotel adalah Whiplash yang beruntung memenangkan 3 piala melalui editing, aktor pembantu untuk J.K. Simmons, dan sound mixing. Sedangkan nomine lain di Best Picture, yakni American Sniper, Selma, The Imitation Game, dan The Theory of Everything, masih dapat tersenyum bahagia karena AMPAS tengah berbaik hati tahun ini karena masing-masing setidaknya mendapat satu piala untuk dikoleksi.
